No more blogging here… at least for now

16 August, 2007 (18:08) | Tech, Whatever... | By: Deanne

I was double-posting here and on LiveJournal, but I’m going to stop that now…

I’ll keep this site updated with events, and links, and I may start a photoblog here someday, but the words will go elsewhere.

Ursula LeGuin is my hero. Read her article in Ansible 240, July 2007.

Thanks go to las for the pointer.

Listen to my personal radio station!

(Note: edited to move code to my sidebar.)

A bunch of LinuxChix were doing it, so I joined the fun. I’ve finally started to listen to some of the tracks that I’ve been downloading from eMusic, as well as recommendations from last.fm itself.

Testing a new plugin: Yet another photoblog

I was looking for something that would provide exif data, for my digital photography class, and here it is! I’m not entirely happy with the format of the data… I’d prefer to have it all on one line, but this is a good start. Who knows what will happen with a little more tweaking?

Thanks to Johannes Jarolim for a fine plugin.

WordPress 2.1

17 February, 2007 (12:35) | WordPress | By: Deanne

I really need to learn to change only one thing at a time when I’m making changes to my blog. It seemed like a good idea to update to the latest version of WordPress, so that I did. My old theme (Mallow) isn’t being updated, so I thought I’d switch to something new (torn between Mandigo and ZoneOut), and enabled Widgets at the same time. Now neither the Links plugin nor the EventsCalendar plugin are working as I’d like. Links appears not to be compatible with 2.1, and EventCalendar I can probably get working, but it’ll take some time.

I do wish I didn’t need to sleep, though. While I’m playing with code, I’d also like to get my office in order. It’s been a disaster area since before MC set up her space downstairs, and I just can’t seem to buckle down and get it done. Time to start making to-do lists again. Let’s see: finish my short story; do some shooting for my digital photography class; find and work on my French class assignments; organize my closet; study php; organize my office.

Yep. I need a clone.
